Last Minute Gift Picks

It's not too late to come up with some great gifts for your collector friends and family members. If you're ordering online, most places still promise delivery in time for Christmas, although it might be at a premium shipping price. But, if you've waited this long -- it's worth it!

Antique Shops and Malls
Forget about the crowded shopping malls and discount stores, go to the antique malls. I was out browsing this weekend and they were a welcome relief from the crowds. Vintage toys, great kitchenware, antique Christmas collectibles and pretty pottery were just some of the pieces I checked out. Visit a nearby store on your lunch hour or call to see if they have late shopping hours this week.

Crafty Collectibles
It might seem late to start making your gifts, but it's not! One of the more popular articles on this site is for the personalized fleece throw. People love getting them and you can find the right fabric for almost any collector. OR what about making a few of those salt shaker tassels? They can be used for ornaments or all year long as a decorative piece. They can cost up to $40. at a craft show, but you can whip one up in less than thirty minutes for just a few dollars!

2007 Calendars for Collectors
I'll admit to being disappointed when I didn't get a calendar for Christmas -- and everyone can use at least one or two! There are hundreds to pick from, but here are a few picks that looked fun.

Collector Magazine Subscriptions
As a collector, I love collectibles magazines and know that I am not alone in that feeling. It's especially gratifying to find one that talks to you, covers just what you collect and want to read more about. These are all terrific picks for the right collector!

Favorite Book Picks
There are dozens of books to pick from, but here are a few that are either brand new or special favorites. The Decorative Arts book by Judith Miller is an extravagant book that will delight any collector and it's fairly new, so most folks probably don't have it yet!

eBay Books
Do you know someone who wants to become an eBayer? Or someone who is interested in fine tuning their selling skills? Here are a few books that are good choices for those wanting to take that next step into the eBay markets.
